Last night while I was catching up on my blog reading, I stumbled across Lindsay’s lunch post which involved this decadent, incredible looking peanut butter & jelly panini. Ever since I laid eyes on it, I knew I had to have some PB&J of my own this morning! I started my day with an old favorite: a toasted ezekiel english muffin spread with 3/4 pack of Justin’s organic PB and raspberry preserves. It was melty and divine, and dripping with peanut butter goodness, just as expected. To me, PB&J isn’t complete without a banana, so I sliced one up along with some strawberries. This is by far one of my favorite breakfasts.. it put my cravings at bay, and left me feeling completely full and satisfied. YUMMMMY!
I’m not absolutely sure what’s in the cards for today as of yet, but I’m planning on going to the gym soon, make another stop at Whole Foods for a couple of things, finally bake that Banana Bread of mine, and do some odds and ends around the house. Oh, and start my countdown for Weeds tonight, of course!
Have a great Monday everyone!

Hi Erica,
I finally went to Candle79 on Sat with the boy and we both LOVED it. I cant wait to go back. The food was superb and the service was fast and attentive. Everything abt the place was really really good. I told the boy that he has to bring me here for my birthday :P I got the Moroccon chickpea cake (amazing) and he got the seitan but thought my dish was better but really enjoyed his as well. We got the guac and tortilla chip appetizer…best guac I’ve ever had by far and for dessert I had the chocolate peanut butter cake which def. tops the list for desserts to try. I ended up eating all of it the whole thing but my boyfriend who was pretty full from dinner had a couple of bites and thought it was delish…i’ve eaten at a lot of ny restaurants so the fact that i’m raving so much says a lot. ofcourse it helps that the entire menu is vegan/vegetarian so i dont have to decide between just 2 menu items. i’ll def. be going back soon. btw where is that vive pizza place u went to and is candle cafe that much different?

I just tried Justin’s Peanut Butters and Almond Butters last week. They are so tasty, but it is hard to get it all out of those little packs. I wish they made jars. I would definitely buy them….especially the maple almond butter.

Yum! That melty gooey sandwich looks amazing!!
Where do you buy the Justin’s PB’s? They would be perfect for my lunches at school.

Nadia – SO glad you and your boy enjoyed Candle 79! When I went with my parents, my mom also got the chickpea cake and loved it. Viva Herbal Pizza is in the East Village, 2nd Avenue between e11th and 12th. And I’m loyal to Candle Cafe, of course, and I actually think their food is far superior to 79’s.. if you loved 79, you’d go crazy over the Cafe!
Megan – I agree that it’s hard to get all of the PB out of the little packet, but it’s just SO GOOD! I, too, would buy it by the jar.. too bad they’re all sold out on the website. I’ve yet to find the maple almond butter, but I’m looking!
Shelby – I found them at Whole Foods! They sell them buy the pack, or you can by a whole mini box of 10.
Michelle – Couldn’t agree more!

You should totally try and make your own preserves, girlfriend! I bet you’d get SO creative with em! And I wonder if there are any good recipes out there for Banana Butter! How much fun does that sound? Mmm’mm! :)

I was looking for justin’s PB and AB at my whole foods, but they didn’t have any :(. The maple AB sounds amazing, I’m gonna definately look into ordering it.
