Morning guys!! It was another late one for me last night, so I basically feel like a walking zombie this morning as a result! Lack of sleep really does me in.. this girl needs plenty of rest to fully function!
Even with a deficient amount of sleep, I was still in the mood to make a special breakfast. I decided some french toast with a blueberry-maple compote was in order for this morning! This was certainly not your ordinary french toast though.. this version packed a protein punch with a staggering 30g! I used 2 slices of this new bread I found at the store, Arnold’s Double Protein Bread, and dipped the bread (slightly toasted prior to dipping) in a batter comprised of 1/2 scoop of protein powder, 1 whole egg, a splash of soy milk, cinnamon, and vanilla. As for the blueberry-maple compote, I used my usual procedure- my favorite recipe from the PPK. I topped it off with some slivered almonds and a dash of powdered sugar. It was absolutely marvelous! I took pleasure in every single delicious bite and scraped my plate clean. Amazing. Morning fuel at it’s finest!
Well, aside from french toast, I think a nice long NAP is in order for this morning as well! I also have a couple of stories to read for english class and I should also begin to catch up on some psychology reading. But honestly? I’ll probably end up just on my couch with a homemade cookie and some coffee and save the studying for later. Because I excel when it comes to procrastination.
