Hi all.
I really apologize for the long term hiatus. I originally intended on taking a break from blogging so I could focus more on school/finals and such, but I must honestly admit that during this time period, I realized how liberating it was to not have to photograph every meal, every morsel I put in my mouth. To not have to feel pressured to prepare a gourmet-style meal for the sake of the blog when in reality all I was craving was a simple veggie burger. I’ve been thinking long and hard about this, but I’ve finally come to the decision that I will no longer be blogging. Yeah, you probably saw that coming. Instead of something I feel passionate about, blogging has become somewhat of a burden and not something that I find enjoyable anymore. My heart is simply not in it anymore, guys. I’ve gotten quite a few rather rude comments about disappointing and letting people down by not updating, but all I can say to that is this is my life, and although it saddens me to leave you all, I have to focus on me and my state of happiness and well-being right now. Sadly, all blogging has done for me as of late was pile on unnecessary stress.
From the bottom of my heart I would like to thank all of my wonderful readers who have been with me from the very beginning and who have supported me this past year and a half. And to those who just recently started to follow my blog, you’re just as important. Maybe someday, when the time is right, I will pick up blogging once again. But at this time in my life, I feel as though I want to live in the most care-free way possible.
I hope you all understand where I’m coming from. Again, I can’t thank you all enough for riding this journey with me. Although I wont be updating my own blog anymore for the time being, I still read ALL of your blogs, and thoroughly enjoy each and every one of them.
xoxo

Erica,
I’ve been reading your blog ever since I started mine and I can’t even explain how much you have helped me be creative in the kitchen and create a comfortable relationship with food. Even though you haven’t updated in a while, I still find myself looking through your posts for meal ideas and recipes. Thank you so much for letting us all read about you, your adventures in NYC (and the Candle Cafe!), and the great food you make.
Take care girl!

Erica, I’m really sad that you aren’t continuing your blog as I’ve absolutely loved following it, and your amazing photography and healthy lifestyle have been really inspirational. I completely understand your decision to stop blogging, I’ve given up so many things (piano, rowing, etc.) over the last year to get where I want to be in terms of school, so hopefully the summer will re-open these activities to me. Balancing everything in your life is such a hard thing to do, and I really respect your decision. I do hope you keep up the flickr though :)
Good luck and take care!

Aw this is sad news Erica, I always adored all of your meals and all of your gorgeous photography! You definitely shouldn’t be doing it if your heart isn’t in it though and that is totally understandable. I wish you all the best and I hope you keep on eating amazing Candle dinners and gorgeous vegan desserts and enjoy every little morsel. All the best to you! :)

It probaly was very stressing for you to take a picture of all your meals and then post it up on your blog everyday. What I liked about your blog was that it was updated almost daily and there was a lot of good photos. My most favorite was your Candle Cafe dinners, I will miss those! No one should force you into blogging you should do what you think is best! I wish you the best of luck!

Hey! I just wanted to let you know that your blog is what snapped me out of my anorexia issues and made me start loving food again. I started my blog after reading yours for some time. I really admire your work and despite your leaving I still will use your recipes!Mmmm tofu scramble! All I can say is thank you soooo much for being artist with food and for blogging it so people like me could fall in love with it. Hope all goes well for your future.
