I’ll be adding to this page as you ask me more questions! Feel free to ask me questions by leaving a comment here, or through email.
1. How do you afford eating out so often?
Save, save, save! I have quite a lot of money saved up, and being that food is my passion, I choose to spend a majority of it on my meals. To me, a meal that satisfies both my palate and spirit is worth every single penny. Food plays such a major role in my life, and there’s nothing I enjoy more than exploring the wonderful city of New York through it’s many restaurants. Also, my parents both provide me with some money every week so I can buy my lunches and dinners while I’m at school.
2. What camera do you use?
I have a Canon Rebel XSI, and I absolutely love it to pieces! It never leaves my side.

I went to Candle 79 for the first time… the MOST fab resteraunt in NYC in my opinion! I wish I could go weekly like you, I just can’ iimagine saving up enough! Me and my mum stopped by there hoping there wouldn’t be a crowd, luckily we were pleasently seated and split a fabulous mushroom slalad, both ordered tofu/seiten entrees and desserts and beverages… almost $100 !!! How do you manage, you must be one rich little lady, I’m jelous! ;)

You’re absolutely tiny! Do you think vegan eating takes a major role in that or do you work-out as well?
Any tips on how to become vegan or how to cook vegan?
I have been told by my doctor that I must avoid absolutely everything I eat (dairy, meat, processed food, artificial colors/flavoring) because of my digestive system. I’m setting up myself for a colon cancer..
I feel so overwhelmed because I feel I’d have to live off leaves.. I know this isn’t true but I don’t know, help?
:]

Steph- I honestly don’t think vegan eating has anything to do with my weight; I eat a TON of vegan dessert, as you can probably tell! I’m lucky to have good genes and a fast metabolism because I don’t have to worry about what I eat much at all. I don’t work out formally (as in go to the gym) at all; the only form of exercise I engage in is walking a lot around the city.
Transitioning to a vegan lifestyle may seem overwhelming at first, but trust me, it’s not! I absolutely LOVE being a vegan, and my love and passion for food stemmed from veganism.
Vegan cooking really isn’t difficult at all; in fact, I find it easier to cook vegan meals! There are vegan replacements for everything nowadays at health food stores and natural markets; soy butter, soy cream cheese, soy yogurt, non-dairy milk, soy/non-dairy ice cream, frozen meals (amy’s brand, especially), cookies, cakes, etc. Being a vegan isn’t hard with all of these products available!
Also if I were you, I’d start my vegan journey by picking up a couple of vegan cookbooks. I’d recommend veganomicon (the holy bible of vegan cooking), and eat, drink, and be vegan. Both are terrific and provide healthy and delicious recipes.
There are also plenty of vegan blogs out there that post their daily meals and can aid to steer you in the right direction. Hope that helped a bit!

Thank you so much for the reply :]
I know what you mean about walking around a lot in the city! I am also a New Yorker but now I don’t attend school in the city anymore so its very hard for me being in Queens in comparison to walking by Whole Foods everyday on my way to and from school. I feel there is nothing around here that I could buy that substitutes a lot of meat and dairy, etc.
I’m going to buy the book. Thank you for that! My mom is absolutely freaked out about me changing by eating but she’s also scared of my illness so she’s caught in the middle and being old and all, she still is stubborn. Of course, being 18 doesn’t help me too much, haha!
I’ll try to find the vegna blogs, thank you once again!

Your pictures are beautiful! I always try to take pictures of my food but it always comes out fuzzy. How do you do it? I use a canon rebel as well but can’t find the right kind of lens for food photos. Which lens do you use?
